Summertime and the photographing is easy. This time of year, you may not see much of your photography friends, and photo clubs are hard-pressed to get three or four people together for a meeting. Everyone is going out for the day, the weekend, or on vacation. We’re all taking as much time as we can to enjoy the warm weather and make photos. We make hay while the sun shines.

Personally, I like to make a big trip of it every year, travelling somewhere new and doing something different for two or three weeks out of the summer with a focus on photography. I’ve fallen in love with the landscapes of the American South West with its red rocks and azure skies. This year I’m striking out for the surf and mountains of California. (more…)
